Sans Tonsils

Last week, I had my tonsils taken out. It has turned out to be one of the most painful experiences of my life and I hope that it is in fact, the most painful. I was very lucky to be seen at such short notice, and to have them stick me on the surgery list.

It has now been a week, exactly, since they were taken and I'm definitely a lot better. I've learnt a few things over the past week:

• I'll never take swallowing for granted again.
• Panadeine Forte is not all it is cracked up to be.
• I love my parents to bits.
• I hope to never require surgery again.
  

I'm not completely out of the woods yet. Hopefully another week.
